Project  Engineer

POSITION SUMMARY:  Responsible for project and/or product and process management, which includes product qualification, process planning and implementation, quality planning, work instructions and assisting with sustaining engineering.

 

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

·        Identifies project scope; generates and maintains flow charts and project plans for project

·        Identifies, investigates, resolves, and tracks project risks

·        Provides project schedules, reports project status and any additional documentation that may be required

·        Process concept generation and implementation

·        Provides supportive tooling as required

·        Responsible for setting up meetings, agendas, minutes, and follow-up

·       Establish, modify, implement, optimize, and monitor systems, processes and procedures to improve and provide timely and efficient workflow

·       Investigate and solve problems, create and monitor tests, implement and monitor product/project improvements

·        Perform engineering changes conforming to internal quality requirements

·       Creates, maintains, and revises Engineering Documents and Work Instructions as required

·        Customer and vendor interaction

·        Provides engineering help to customers and vendors as required

·        Understand and communicate customer expectations

·        Preparation of product specifications for manufacturing and quality assurance

·        Works with production on smooth product manufacturing start-up.

·       Trains all supervisory personnel in the proper use and operation of engineering documents and/or tooling as required

·        Directly interface with production for manufacturing and problem solving  

·        Performs other duties as assigned.

 

 

QUALIFICATIONS:

·       Bachelor’s degree (B.S.) in Mechanical Engineering or Industrial Engineering or equivalent experience related environment.

·        Minimum 5 years experience as Product/Project Engineer

·        Proficient computer skills MS Office, CAD software, use of inspection equipment and methods.

·        Good understanding of metals forming technologies

·        Ability to manage priorities and workflow

·        Commitment to excellence and high standards

·        Creative, flexible, and innovative team player.

·        Solid English language skills both written and oral

·        Solid understanding of statistical methods and GD&T

 

PHYSICAL/MENTAL REQUIREMENTS:

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required:

·        Utilize visual acuity to operate equipment, read technical information, and/or use a keyboard

·        Utilize hand and finger dexterity.

·        Coordinate multiple tasks simultaneously

·        Collect, interpret, and/or analyze complex data and information

 

WORK ENVIRONMENT:

·        Work time is divided between office and manufacturing areas, temperatures in the manufacturing area may be warm in summer months and cool in winter months; dust is present and noise level can be moderate to high.

·        PPE – as required, hearing aids, appropriate footwear and safety glasses.
